Problem: I Cannot Access My Quiz/Exam

Below you will find a list of reasons why you may not be able to access your quiz.

Out of attempts – Exams and quizzes in Moodle can have limited attempts. If you have reached the number of attempts allowed on a quiz or exam you will not be able to retake the quiz/exam.

NOTE: If you walk away from your computer, navigate away from the quiz the timer still continues to count down. If you try to return to the quiz/exam at a later time after the timer expires you will not be able to access the exam.

Time limit has been reached – If you leave a timed quiz the timer will continue to run. Make sure to continuously save your quiz by clicking on the button at the bottom of each page in your quiz/exam. This will ensure if any problems do arise the work you have completed will be saved.

Instructor has security restrictions on the quiz - Instructors have the ability to restrict an quiz/exam by password or IP address. If you are having any problems related to these two issues contact the instructor.

Exam is set to appear in a secure pop-up window - Moodle has the ability to open an exam in a secure, Javascript window. Pop-Up blockers must be disabled and you must allow scripts to run on the browser for you to access the exam. The secure pop-up window doesn’t allow you to use copy or paste or navigate away from the window when the quiz/exam is open.

If you need to request an exam reset or the ability to retake an exam please contact your instructor.
